Feeling Reinspired: Forest's Return to Art

Forest has always been described as creative. Art was a standout subject in Year 12, but after a period of feeling a little uninspired, Forest took a short break from Art Group.

Now, Forest is back and feeling more creative than ever.

"I enjoy art because it gives me a way to express how I feel without needing words."

Art has become a valuable outlet for Forest, helping explore different emotions and facades without judgment. Each piece offers a way to understand and express what’s going on internally.

Mental Health, Creativity and Expression

For Forest, art plays an important role in mental wellbeing. Creating is both a release and a reflection, a way to stay grounded and communicate feelings that might otherwise go unspoken.

Their favourite saying, "Comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted", it reflects how art challenges, comforts and creates space for honesty.

Forest believes everyone should give it a try.

"My advice to anyone considering starting your art journey: Art is for everyone.  It’s inclusive and the base of freedom to express yourself.  There are no rights or wrongs in Art."

Forest’s medium of choice is watercolour. It’s practical, forgiving and suits a fast-paced creative mind. They say it's great if you don't have a lot of patience.

Forest’s Favourite Piece: Dreamscape

Dreamscape captures Forest’s creative eye and love for mood and fantasy, a beautiful mix of imagination and emotion.

"It's dreamy and shows my love of space.  It reflects my digital art style on canvas."
